-
Hi, has anyone had a refund come through to their Creation IHG card after it was closed in December?
BA have apparently sent a refund to the card, but it hasn’t appeared yet on Creation online services.
Does anyone know if refunds will still appear? I current see a £0.00 balance.
How long ago was the refund sent? Creation is very slow to update both credits and debits IME.
That said, I had to open a dispute with Amex last year when BA insisted they had sent a refund and they hadn’t.I’d rather deal with Amex than Creation though!

I had a refund last week, which appeared promptly.
Account currently shows a credit balance
Thanks both, will keep an eye out.
I can only assume then phoning to get Creation to make me a bank transfer will be like pulling teeth? 🙂

I have done it and it was pretty straightforward.
Yes, I received a refund a week or so after the 3rd December. My account now shows as being in credit. It’s not for much so I’m not in a rush to get it returned plus I’ve just escalated my first of two complaints to them to the FOS after they failed to acknowledge within 8 weeks so I’ll deal with it as part of that correspondence when it gets going.
I had a BA refund credit back to my closed IHG premium card on 27 December.
Another refund of a BA fare paid via Curve, using the IHG card, has now got as far as Curve, who say they are looking into it.Three weeks later, I received a helpful reply from Curve about the BA refund credited to my now closed IHG Premium Rewards Card:
“Since this card has been cancelled, your bank (my note: Creation) should have declined the payment, however this hasn’t happened and they now hold the funds as a result.
Please provide the card issuer with the following Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) so that they can trace the money and return it to your account.”I had already asked for my money back from Creation, without success. I’m not sure I would actually have wanted them to decline a refund from British Airways, which are notoriously hard to come by. My FOS or MCOL claim at the end of March will certainly include an item for my own hard work.
