Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Credit to use before end of year

    hiya,

I have a chunk of £££ to use with Virgin before the end of the year, or I lose it all. Can anyone think of any creative solutions to allow this credit to last longer, or get it refunded back to me as my wife and I are not in a position to take any leave before xmas.

I did ask Virgin about getting it refunded and they told me to email them, waiting for a response, what are my chances?

NB – No status with Virgin

    Ta x

In a similar situation, I believe they’ll refund for £35, however in my case I don’t actually want them to refund it as it will be complicated. Hoping they will extend through to ‘24 as BA recently has however not optimistic.

Unfortunately chances of an extension are slim to none. Depending on when the voucher was issued – the first batch issued had a book/travel by day of end of April 23. Given they didn’t extend those at a time restrictions were more prominent; they have no reason to extend these.

They can be booked for anyone (not necessarily yourself) like the BA ones so least there’s that if you have a friend or family member travelling.

Had a response back from Virgin, they will not be extending my voucher as it wouldn’t be fair to others.

No response on a refund, will push them for this option now, wish me luck!

No luck with refund either. So frustrating as flights are so much more expensive than when I originally booked and my wife can’t take any leave until middle of December, when flights are even more than they are now!
