All cards behind Curve used to work fine with tax free childcare. Even Virgin Atlantic did not have cash advance fees – afraid to try it now!

I imagine Zilch is not a debit card?Go do some research on Zilch
Such an useful response *facepalm*
Is it a debit card or not? If yes, why would you need Curve anyway? It’s one of these buy now/pay later efforts @RuiN
I know, I get that. But the mastercard they provide is it a debit card or credit card? If the former, it can be used to pay for taxfree childcare (which is where this conversation started), and would be great to do so since it is now Fronted on Curve and this gives it 0.5% cashback.
A credit agreement is required in order to sign up to Zilch.
Would that classify it as a credit card?
How else to check? The BIN?
Yes, the BIN would be what is relevant.
Anyone have a Zilch referral link?
Here’s mine: https://customers.payzilch.com/signup?inviteCode=c2KwCI
Thanks a lot!Their website suggests it links to your current account. Why would you then need curve?
I would expect any cancellation or modification fee to be waived if you are locked into any length of subscription/contract, before the change is announced.
They’d have 2 choices – either not apply the changes in the period you’ve signed up for – the most reasonable option – or allow you to exit at no extra cost to you which is messier as you may be giving up benefits you’d signed up for if a change forces you to exit earlier.
IMV the way English law goes and the way finance providers are regulated lead me to believe the above though IANAL.
For current customers, Curve have offered to charge the higher fee but refund the increase in annual fee over the 12 month period (they claim its £3 a month), but this ‘refund’ will stop after the 12 months.
@RuiN thanks, any pointers or steers on best usage?
Have no idea, signed up today to see if it works on tax free childcare giving 0.5% cashback. But 0.5% cashback is decent in any case. And you even get S75 protection it seems (leading me to be suspicious about it working on tax free childcare…).

Offered via what way? Like others, I still haven’t even received any notification about any changes.

Thanks a lot! Thanks for sharing. Be grateful for any pointers or steer on best uses. Can DM me if preferred.
I’ve already replied to that 5 minutes after you first asked 🙂
Ah sorry, posted 3 times as first two never materialised…now they all come….you may see a third request lol
I’ll report back on I manage to use it! For now, it tells me they can’t create a virtual card for me yet.
I lost the plot on this thread so I messaged Curve, response if it helps anyone (below Metal card holders) in less than 24 hours. Curve Metal has way more than paid it’s fee for me to date.
And also as of the 10th of November 2023, the monthly price of our Curve X and Curve Metal subscriptions will increase as follows:
Curve X: From £/€4.99/month to £/€5.99/month
Curve Metal: From £/€14.99/month to £/€17.99/month | £/€150/annual to £/€177.99 /annualRest assured that our Black tier subscription will remain unchanged at £/€9.99/month and the Standard tier subscription will continue to be free of charge.
It’s worth noting that there will also be some adjustments to transaction fees and fee-free limits, for example those associated with spending via Curve abroad. For further information please refer to our Fee Schedule ( https://www.curve.com/en-gb/subscriptions/ ).
Thank you for your continued support and let us know if you have any questions!
There is still a few ways to take advantage, all the details are on this forum already if you do a bit of digging
I’ve tried that digging but the forum capabilities are so basic it’s tricky. And any discussion seems to be shut down. Still happy to trade tips on non fronted transactions if you email upper_ensure352@simplelogin.com 😉
I mean, we all may as well share our stories now since it’s coming to an end no?
I’ll get slammed if I don’t get permission from the secret society 😉
Can DM me if preferred.
How?

If someone wants to help you, don’t let me get in the way. However from your comments through this thread I’m not sure you have much information to trade back. Unless you’re going to pay cash for the info? 🤷🏻♂️
