Such an useful response *facepalm*
This is a churlish response.
If anything there is already TOO MUCH information here. You have to have some curiosity and spend some time.
If a HOWTO document or anything too close to one is posted, then the useful services will get killed off.

It was relating to a direct yes/no question, one in which despite having researched myself, I am no clearer on the answer to either. The website seems to skirt around it. The original question wasn’t asking for documentation or sensitive info.

That’s frankily absolutely stupid. I only asked it was a debit or a credit card!

I’m frustrated because this thread is littered with gold and I’m worried that a good thing is going to get killed.
As with the other poster here – email this disposable address yikisar725@searpen.com, post a confirmation word here, include it in the email, and I will send you my real email, and answer you.
So I’ve just come here this morning after a payment to NS&I was repeatedly rejected this morning.
Have they already cut off NS&I ahead of November? Or is there just a technical glitch this morning perhaps?
I think NS&I are having some problems this morning.
No need to answer, I’ve already managed to get Zilch to work – and I’ll answer for anyone else below. The problem was my debit card, I was using a Chase one and Zilch did accept it but then it didn’t work.
I’ve replaced it with a Lloyds one, and Zilch now works.
The good news is that it does work with Tax Free Childcare (so thanks G for the tip!). The BIN is 5169 40 which apparently is a credit BIN from Ukraine, but it goes through fine. So no need to keep Curve to get something out of Tax Free Childcare.Anyone wanting to try Zilch, do check my referral code in the previous pages 🙂 and then share yours!

Thanks for the response.
Could I be a bit cheeky and ask if I could send that email to me too? Bit gutted to read the news this morning about the reduction on Fronted, so any help with non-fronted would be very much appreciated. Totally understand if you don’t want to get involved with too many emails though!

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but why not pay for Childcare with Chase and get 1% cashback? I am guessing that Childcare does not quality for cashback with Chase?
Back on topic: I have had a further response from Curve, “blah … we want you to feel empowered and in control of your finances … blah”. However, they still understand where I am coming from and would like to offer me a refund of 3 months’ membership so I can see if I would like to give them another chance. Not too shabby, I suppose!
I’m still wondering when they are going to make an official announcement. Seems odd to email only a handful of users and have nothing updating on the Curve website.

Govt transactions won’t pay out

Empowered they say? Whilst applying tighter restrictions/a levy on your spends and charging you more for the pleasure?
Perhaps that word doesn’t mean what I think it does.
So now with all this news it may be worth asking a few questions. I’m still baffled as to what curve thinks is a fronted transaction. There seems to be no obvious way to tell. I’m sure me paying off a credit card using my curve is definitely fronting. Yet some savings accounts allow you to top up via Apple Pay and whilst not allowing a credit card, curve does work. So is this fronted?
And someone mentioned topping up an ISA and this not counting as fronting. I assume this only works if you can use credit cards to top up this ISA, in which case how does Curve know that the retailer accepts credit cards (and presumably debit cards) and hence doesn’t count it as a fronted transaction?
Which savings accounts or ISA’s accept credit card top ups which don’t count as fronted and don’t incur some kind of fee from the underlying credit card (Barclaycard)? Happy to exchange info, I have a savings account that allows unlimited topups via Apple Pay to easily reach the fronted limit monthly.
I’ve emailed.
It’s hot today!

I think ’empowered’ in this context is on par with the use of the word ‘enhanced’ 🙂
Some stuff on the Twitters
All fluff , no substance just more PR BS and spin on what looks like a dead man walking.

I’ve emailed. “Sexy Little Boy” Thanks!
I’m afraid when I saw a mail from “pucciboy” containing “Sexy little boy” in the inbox, I thought I was receiving unsolicited CSAM and closed the site in disgust.

Are you operating on the stopped clock principle? People here have been referring to Curve as dead / dead man walking for well over two years, yet with the most recent changes, it appears lots of people say they have taken out Metal subscriptions quite recently! I think that what you must actually mean is that the changes don’t suit you personally, so the whole product must therefore be dead which is the same reasoning as given two+ years ago. I have never invested in Curve (and actually have it carved out of a fund that would otherwise hold it) as I don’t see path to profitability, but one shouldn’t judge a company solely by how it affects one’s personal use.
What may actually get them is BNPL which is a time bomb waiting to go off, but may take some time to explode fully. The Money & Pensions Service say 10m people are using this now (not only with Curve of course) which is pretty disturbing.
I have emailed, fox coconut fate. Thanks!
I have a great non-fronted option that works with any underlying and even Amex (doesn’t need curve). If anyone can convince me that they have something useful to trade then email schemas-00-noble@icloud.com
I’m tempted now but I don’t have a fancy-pants anonymous email and not sure if I can be bothered creating a new one!

Is it PayPal friends and family?
