Forums Payment cards Other payment cards Weird Curve mathemetics ….

I complained to Curve about them charging me a fee on the entire transaction vs just the bit over the £3000.

    This is their response ……

    I’m pretty sure 2.5% of £440 is £11.

Please correct me if I’m wrong ……

“I totally understand where you are coming from in terms of the recent change to our Fronted fee-free limits.
We will now be charging a 2.5% fee on Fronted transactions. This fee will still be subject to your subscription tier fee-free limit, and like you mentioned before, you do have a limit of £3,000 fee- free since you’re a Metal Curve user.
This means that the charge of £86 you received on your transaction for £3,440
corresponds to the 2.5% fee applied to £440 (which is the amount that exceeded your Curve Fronted limit).
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with today!“

Your calculations are correct, Curve is incorrect.

Can you GBIT to a debit card? This should refund the fronted fee.

Why would he want to do that? Surely he’ll reply to their email advising that their calculations are incorrect?

Curve has become pretty useless recently.
Their CS is woeful too, and this is a perfect example.
I’m likely going to cancel my account, which is sad particularly as I’d even invested.

Depends. If it were me I’d give them another chance to resolve it and then I’d give up and GBIT.

Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.
