Forums Payment cards American Express Dine Local and Dine Abroad

Can both of these offers be used for the same city. For example there are the same restaurants for London in both offers. So Could I dine at two locations both in my home city London and get the offer for both without going abroad?

Assuming your are talking about the £300 fine credit (£150 locally + £150 Abroad) How did you come to that conclusion?

The offer T&C ask you to check the restaurant on the following site:

    https://www.americanexpress.com/en-gb/benefits/diningbenefit/

There you need to select restaurants by country and then city.

London would only be listed under United Kingdom (which is considered “Locally”), and for the spending abroad you would need to select any of the other countries listed but United Kingdom.

The offer reset on 31/12 so in January you can spend another £300 overall

Assuming this isn’t a wind up

    Simple answer NO

Because local means in the country your card is issued and abroad means in another country.

Worryingly, I do not think so.

Both dining offers link to the same ‘participating locations’ page – that doesn’t mean you can use the UK offer in a non UK location.

Reckon there’s any restaurants in London where you can pay in Euro/Dollar and thus potentially trigger the “abroad” offer too?!

It is not currency that drive the “abroad” element.

Yes Both “promotions” link to the same participating restaurant list but I am afraid the OP really thought that was what drove the home and abroad element and not the actual regional location 🙈🙈🙈
