Does anyone have both the personal Platinum and the personal Gold?

Hi all,

Thinking of getting a personal Gold card to help Player 2 get referral points. I already have the personal Platinum charge card – will Amex be OK with me having 2 personal MR cards….?

With the BA cards, my understanding is that you can’t have both the blue BA and BAPP at the same time. Wondering if it would be the same for personal MR cards…

Don’t want Amex to treat my Gold card application as a downgrade from the Platinum.

Plenty have folk have both, no problem at all (myself included). It will be treated as a separate application, not a downgrade.

I have both. Platinum for the benefits and Gold for spend rewards (particularly non-GBP spend where the 2.5 MR / £1 rate: 1 MR base + 1 MR non-GBP + 0.5 MR bonus after hitting the annual £5000 spend thresholds; largely offsets the non-GBP fee, giving a net 0.5% non-GBP fee).

Yes, my partner has both and I’ve been using the suppl. gold card for my work travel thank to double MR point and non-GBP fees reimbursable anyway.
