Hi,
I have hold the Amex gold card about a year, and need to think about the annual fee.
Given the benefit of gold card, I think I won’t pay another year fee to keep it.
The only concern is I still have 60k MR points, and haven’t decided where should I spend it.
I have check with Amex and they will not offer any discount to my next year fee..
Can anyone recommend another Amex card with 0 annual fee? so I can keep my account and MR points.
Thanks
As has been mentioned in a few articles on here, you can apply for the Amex Rewards Credit Card, which has no annual fee and earns MR at a rate of 1 point per £1. Make sure it is linked to your current MR profile as sometimes it will start a new MR profile but Amex can sort if that happens, then you can close the gold card.
Instead of asking for a discount of the annual fee ask for some retention MR points instead to compensate the cost of the annual fee.
