Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios DragonPass – combine with Priority Pass?

  • APL03 29 posts

I have 4 free Dragon Passes with my Barclays account / Barclaycard combo.

My wife has 4 free Priority Passes with a Gold Amex.

And we both have HSBC Premier world Traveller Mastercards that allows each of us free unlimited Priority Pass access (with no guests).

If we want to use a lounge for the two of us and our two children, can we just use either two of the Dragon or Priority passes for them, and use the HSBC cards for entry by us?

Or will we have to use a total of 4 of the individual passes because using one of the passes for a guest can only be done using another pass for the card holder itself (basically meaning to get the children in we can’t use the HSBC access for ourselves)? Hope that makes sense!

The DragonPass+ terms don’t explicitly say you can, but I think you would be unlucky not to be allowed to use 2 passes (just ask to scan twice) for your children while you use your HSBC cards.
I don’t currently have PP to check t&cs, but would again expect you could swipe twice for accompanied children.
You are of course at the mercy of individual lounges having capacity for DP or PP.

I used the Barclaycard DP at Stansted last month and it was ok to use it twice (one for me, one for the person with me).

It is definitely possible, and clearly allowed as per the T&Cs, to guest someone in on DP if DP holder is using a pass themselves.
OP would like to use DP for his (accompanied) children while he uses HSBC instead of his DP. This is not explicitly mentioned in the T&Cs.
