Hello
I have a British Airways Premium Plus card and am trying to maximise the benefits of that card. I have booked a flight for a friend using my card to assist in meeting the £3,000 target spend in 3 months. I assume that I earn the 1.5x Avios rate as usual.
My question is: do I get the 3x Avios if I booked via ba.com using my frequent flyer account, even though I am not the person flying? How is this tracked – via the frequent flyer number, or from an analysis of the payee reference e.g BRITISHAIRWAYS?
Thanks
You’ll get 3X points. Your statement will initially show BA.com West Drayton or similar, then will populate with the flight details and possibly passenger names. Doesn’t matter that it is not you flying.
You wont get TPs and you will only get the Avios for the spend- not the Avios “earned” from flying.
