A friend recently travelled LJU-IST-KUL on Turkish Airlines, with connection to SYD on Malaysian. Tried to claim for MH sector on BA EXec account but it was rejected. Flight number was MH and operated by Malaysian.
Would this qualify for earning Avios and if so, how long before likely to show on her BA account?
She has received her points for the LJU-IST-KUL sectors on LH Miles and More.
Any advice appreciated.I think it depends on a number of factors, but most importantly if the ticket was issued by Turkish, was the flight in question ticketed as TK codeshare?
I have flown on Emirates ticket where the Dubai-London leg was operated by Qantas and the main flight number was indeed QF but on my ticket it was shown as the EK codeshare, and was not able to claim it on my BAEC.
LH and TK are both part of Star Alliance so the crediting of those other fights, operated and marketed by TK, to Miles & More, is really straightforward, hence I think the ticket may have been issued under the TK codeshare for the KUL-SYD leg (eg TK4813 would have been the flight ticketed by Turkish Airlines for the flight operating as MH123).
What fare class was the ticket? I nearly booked a ticket on MH that was in Q, before realising that the fare class didn’t show on BA’s TP calculator, so I’m assuming it wouldn’t pay out.

It was a business class ticket, I,d need to check exact fare class.
