Hey All,
Has anyone had their avios credited from the Economist promo yet?
https://www.headforpoints.com/2023/02/10/economist-avios-offer-2/
Not had anything despite it being over 6 weeks ago.
Thanks.
@GibFlyer I took out to the Economist offer on 10th March and the Avios landed in my BAEC account on 30th March just under 3 weeks turnaround (better than expected!)
In case it’s of any use, I found this reference on the Economist website page titled “Can I earn Avios with a subscription to The Economist?” where they state: “We aim to credit points within 35 days of purchase. For points to be credited, the details entered and those on your subscription must match your Avios membership account. If you are have not received the points after this time, please contact our dedicated service centre where we will be happy to assist.” https://rb.gy/nhboyi The “dedicated service centre” link directs to this page https://myaccount.economist.com/s/contact-us
@ExpatInBerlin that’s superb advice and greatly appreciated.
@GibFlyer you’re welcome! Given you’re now at the 6 week mark I would get in contact with them pronto. I found an earlier HfP forum post on the topic which advises emailing this address: supportteam@economist.com. Apparently the customer service team usually have to escalate these kinds of Avios issues to the Marketing Director who then speaks to Avios to get the points transferred into your BAEC account. Hope you get sorted soon!
Yes, I love this offer. I signed up in Feb and received my Avios within 3-4 weeks.
Sub taken 20th Mar. Avios credited 14th Apr.
This was a second sub in the same account, taken after a gap of 24 months.
Still waiting on mine after subscribing in February. Escalated via email using details above and just called to chase an update. They’ve not bothered replying to my email but did escalate according to the phone advisor. They also just told me to contact British airways but I’ve refused and explained they’ll only issue the Avios when the economist submits the request. I knew there would be issues with this, a waste of time.
