Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club How can I use a BA eVoucher for BA Holidays?

  • cats_are_best 121 posts

Cancelled and rebooked as flight+car to take advantage of the extension to the double TP offer, won’t pick up the car, but 160 TP for a little extra will help for renewing the following year.

What’s the best way to use eVouchers to pay the balance on a BAH booking? I can’t see any way to do it online.

Can I call the BAEC Gold number, or is it BAH only?

Forward the email you got from BA containing the EVoucher reference number to BA Holidays and ask them to apply the evoucher to your BAH quoting the reference number of your BA Holiday booking.

Have done this and it works, may take up to 7 days to be applied, but you will get a confirmation email back from BAH stating it has been used and the new outstanding balance.

Thanks. Is the method via the email form on the BA site?

No, you just forward the evoucher email to “baholidays.contactcentre@ba.com” and ask them to apply to your new booking.

    e.g.
Please can you apply this voucher to my new BA booking reference XXXXXX

Also note that e-vouchers can be used to offset the original deposit of the BAH booking too, not just the outstanding balance.
They will refund the deposit (or any part of it covered by the voucher) back to the original payment card.

    Not correct.

They will apply a voucher to the deposit if you phone up to book the trip and use it to pay the deposit.

Otherwise they will use it to offset the balance due if you apply it after initial booking.

If there is a credit balance after that they will refund it in cash.

    Correct for me.
The 2 x e-vouchers I sent BAH by email were more than the balance left to pay, but less than the total cost of the holiday.
They applied both of them in full and then refunded a part of the deposit back to my card.
This was done for me in mid-November this year. All via email.

Apologies for being a bit “thick” here, if you don’t pick up the car, how does this benefit you? Will the voucher that BA issues to AVIS/Budget be refunded? And if so, wouldn’t that invalidate the principal of a holiday and double TP’s not being awarded?

The benefit is that I will get 160 cheap TP, helpful for Gold renewal in 2023.

If BA gets a refund from the hire company, good for BA, but their contract with the hirer is nothing to do with me.

The T&C for the double TP offer do not state that the car must be picked up, I believe others have done the same and been ok.

Worst case, over the next few months if I see reports of BA not honouring the deal, I’ll cancel.

I’m considering to buy an BA e-voucher from eBay to use for an upcoming holiday. Does anyone have experience in doing this? Terms say vouchers are non-transferable but is this checked?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Don’t do it.

    Please just don’t.

What happens when you buy this voucher then are told it’s already been used?
