Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club eVouchers just valid to April 2023 now?

  • 38 posts

I am about to cancel a booking due to flight cancellations but as it was booked with an eVoucher I will get another one rather than a full refund.

The BA website is telling me the voucher will be valid for travel up to April 2023? But other BA pages still reference the original Sept 2023 date. Are there changes afoot?

Copy/paste from BA Website (my bold):

You can receive the full value of your booking as a voucher. It’s quick, simple and includes the cost of any extras, such as seating.
Book travel quickly and easily to any destination we fly to
Travel whenever you’re ready, up to April 2023
Receive another voucher if you don’t use its full value

It’s always said that, but the Sep 23 date is still actually in place.

Ah superb, thanks! I’ve always gone to the voucher request page but that came up when reviewing cancellation options for the booking so not noticed it before.

Are you confusing e-vouchers and FTVs?

If there is a flight cancellation, you should be able to get a full refund irrespective of how it was originally funded.

That’s true – I just assumed Areotec actually wanted another voucher.

If a flight is cancelled by BA you SHOULD be able to ask for a refund online now.

I am about to cancel a 2 for 1 booking for a FTV. Voucher would expire in May. BA.com states FTV can be used up to September 2023 but I have seen references to booking by August 2020. Can someone advise if

    a) I have to use the FTV to book outbound travel by end of August 2020
    b) If not, what is the last date for outbound travel?
    c) Has all travel to be completed by September 2023?
Can’t even log in to BA.com at the moment. They are ‘busy’!

Thanks to anyone who can clarify this.

How on earth would you be travelling by August 2020, unless you have a time machine?! Your answers are already above, anyway.

Fortunately, you don’t need to log in to BA to view the help pages. This has most of the details but you need to be persistent with your navigation: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/incident/coronavirus/vouchers-refunds

But for this, and the OP to a certain extent,

    When does the voucher expire?

The voucher expires on 30 September 2023.

Your voucher can be used as payment, or part payment, for a new future booking. Your new trip booked using your voucher must be fully completed by 30 September 2023 (departure and return).

If you have an existing voucher with an expiry date prior to 30 September 2023, please note that your voucher will automatically be extended to 30 September 2023. Customers will be notified with new voucher details as soon as possible.
