Forums Payment cards American Express Fast track security in Naples experience?

    Has anyone had experience of using the fast track security lane using platinum card?

    Recently upgraded to Plat from Gold. Player 2 now has a supp card. Would we (+2 kids and Grandad) be able to walk over to fast track by waving the cards?

    I use it all the time, most recently yesterday!

    Usually no problem at all, but yesterday an overzealous guy wanted to check with his supervisor if I could go through (myself and three kids) with only one Platinum card as the boarding pass he was checking (my 9 yo daughter) was “BA Blue”… the lady at the scanner immediately told him “but if he has a Platinum card, it is irrelevant what airline status he has” and whilst he was still checking the BP, he replied “one of them is also Silver”, at which point the supervisor told him that as the colleague had already suggested, the one platinum card was enough (to be fair normally I go through with two platinum cards and the three kids but this time I was travelling without the wife).

    Having a second thought, FastTrack in Naples and other Italian airports is a saleable service (revenue generating for the airport), which can be actually bought even at the door (self service machine) so this may be the reason for the overzealous guy I dealt with.

    @BigTim
    you may be equally challenged, especially because of the additional adult (Grandad) but I would reply that you have “previously gone through” without questions (this may or may not work but they have no way to know that you are new to Platinum).

    That’s great, thanks Luca! Will give it try in a week’s time when fly out from Naples.

    Although we had 2 plat cards, a wave of a single one was all that was requested this morning for 4 people (2 kids).
