Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Few weeks stay, while looking for a rental property ?

*** I have used the Hilton forum as thats who we mostly use, but could be pretty much any chain ( hope thats ok, as i thought this thread might get lost in the “chat thread ” )

Long story short, we are planning to move back to South Devon ( house in Cheshire just gone on market )

Planning to rent in S Devon for the forseeable, thinking about the logistics around it all, ie If/when we sell, and have exchanged, there may not be a suitable rental property available at that exact time, so we would have to have our “stuff” moved to a storage facility, and stay somewhere like an AirBNB, or a hotel ( if any potentially do a deal for longer stays ? ) while we find a rental place.

Of course we may get lucky and find somewhere at the appropriate time…

Just trying to “sense-check ” this and see if anyone has done similar ?

    Thanks all

Well if the price is right why not. Might even be cheaper than renting except on popular dates. But there’s only two Hamptons there. Will function as a status/mattress run anyway

You should contact the hotel(s) you are interested in to see what sort of discount they can offer for an extended booking.

The firmer your plans the firmer any offer will be

Thanks for the feedback both, appreciated.

I’d agree with contacting reservation managers in target properties. Off-season in Devon, hotels will likely bite your hand off to rent a room for an extended period; I’d expect a noticeable discount on already low rates.

Airbnb definitely gets expensive for a longer stay, and hotels aren’t ideal for more than a few nights.

Have you looked into serviced apartments. I used one a few years ago when working away from home for a few months. Was great to be able to cook for myself and leave my stuff there at weekends and holidays.
