This offer looked quite attractive if able to pay in Euros. But if paying in £s and factoring in a 3% FX fee, by my calculation, gives an Avios point cost of around 0.94p. So not quite as good as the 3x boost cost of 0.92p.
Calculation: 75,000 Avios for €825
Assume € to £ of 0.83 gives £684.75
Adding 3% FX gives £705.29
Giving £705.29/75,000 is equivalent to 0.94 per AviosPaying with a Chase Debit Card with 1% cashback looks attractive
it comes to 0.875p per avios if using a no fx fee card and using current interbank rate, which is quite a good deal
I bought 200k (the max) and might use my partner’s household Avios account to do the same. Though frivolously dropping 3.4k on some points is not something I ever thought I’d do, the outsized value of partner rewards has been invaluable to us.
Any idea how long before the points take to apear in your account once purchased? I had assumed instantly but that does not appear to be the case.

Which ones in particular? Qatar and Iberia?
Note, the best price is buying 100,000 or more.
99000 Avios cost €1089
100000 Avios cost €1050This is cheaper than the original price for the BA subscription, saving about £40 on 200,000. Plus you get all the avios now – with BA you get them in 12 instalments.
Downside – I might need that £1789 subscription spend on my BA card to meet the new threshold of £15k for the 241 voucher next year.

We live in Australia at the moment so Qantas (cash prices are always crazily high) and Cathay Pacific.
We’ve booked a trip to explore more of Japan — our 4 flights in J via HKG and back via KUL with Cathay, Malaysian and JAL for 2 of us were about 200k Avios + minimal taxes, looking at £8k cash. £2k for all that business travel is a fair deal & excited to try JAL!
