    This is a new excuse on me. I assume “Turnaround Manager” is what we used to call a Despatcher. Despite having three staff members at the gate, none is apparently qualified to despatch our 18:15 flight to Malé, so boarding waits until someone can be found.

    Interesting. Let’s see if they manage to find one (and presumably a new slot) before delay compo kicks in!

    Also depends how much time they can make up in the air!

    When/If it gets to 2h delay on departure, I’d be contacting the resort to check options for a later sea plane transfer. It could get messy.

    They found one, and we’re on board now, so hopefully only a 45-minute delay. Just not a reason I’d come across before.
