Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Flight paid 5k but only 2.5k TPs

  • 8 posts

So I paid 5k for a biz class return ticket to Asia (booked in February for May trip). When I log into manage my booking the TPs are less than half that (so can’t really be fees and taxes). Any reason why this might be the case? Who should I ask?

    Many thanks

Presumably the 2,500 TP you are seeing as the estimate is for the return, not each way?

Is this some sort of corporate fare where £5k is the notional fare or have you actually paid £5k? How many Avios does it say you will earn? And is that consistent with the TP estimate?

It’s for the return ie the entire flight. Not for a corporate fare – I actually paid 5k. Says will earn 14k avíos – not sure if the avíos sure is consistent or not with the TPs they are awarding of 2.5k. Whole thing makes no sense and frankly, makes me v wary about hoping BA will transition this tier point shift appropriately. Probably Shld see the writing on the wall and switch.

For info I am a GfL and have been a GGL for several years. Finding this very difficult to bank on anymore.

    Booked through travel agent?

There should be two entries on your statement, one for outbound and one for inbound. Were they 1.25k TP each? And did they each include the 400 TP bonus?

    You’ve not flown yet!

    MMB states this

Flight calculator results offer an estimate and do not include eligible add-ons purchased on other airlines, or bonus Avios and tier points. Your final total may change depending on the cabin, carrier, route and date you book.

If you are already GfL, there’s not much point switching to another oneworld FFP, unless you will also be doing the majority of flying on that particular airline in order to reach and benefit from their GGL equivalent (if they have one).
