Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Flying Club Fees and Taxes – Easy Chart?

  • adwoot 28 posts

I am planning how best to use my Flying Club points, and have found the Virgin redemption chart. But despite Googling and looking through HfP I am struggling to find any chart or current examples of fees, for all cabins and routes. I know I can do dummy searches, but a quick reference guide would be great.

Any pointers, or alternatively any examples? Mainly interested in US or SA in any cabin. I know UC are £££!

SeatSpy shows the charges for all cabins and routes.

Thank you! Was planning to look at that too but thought it was just availability.

It’s a silly thing but I don’t want to start committed searching until I’ve got budget and plans in place as I’ll see things I’m interested in but get disappointed when I’m not ready to book, and then they go. Just the way I am 😀

With VS, charges/taxes for both USA and SA destinations are lower when booked as one return trip. It’s particularly significant for USA.

SeatSpy shows the charges as two one ways. For a return, only way is a dummy booking.

How much lower, roughly? I’m planning to book MAN-MCO for November 2024 in UC with the voucher, but I will possibly need to book both legs separately in case there’s a lot of demand (it will be very near Thanksgiving), or we might decide to fly home with another airline or from another city.

    Not sure re MAN MCO.

    For LHR MIA
    One way
    LHR MIA £631
    MIA LHR $977

    Return
    LHR MIA £1003

Not dissimilar to US routes before BA introduced RFS on LH. VS will adjust charges/taxes and merge under one PNR if you call to book the inbound. Not sure if they would refund the taxes/charges if you book the inbound online under two separate PNR, but call later to link the two PNRs.
