Discuss today's stories:
I’m a Capital On Tap customer and I signed up around October 2023.
Last time they announced moving Business Reward customers to Pro or a force downgrade (earlier in Jan 2025 I believe?), I wasn’t part of that batch, so I’ve still been on Business Rewards.
Just got an email today to tell me that there are the following options. Either:
1. be moved on 17th June and I’ll get a pro-rata refund for the Business Reward plan, but also charged for the upgrade to Pro plan. Normal price £299, special price today £199 for 1 year.
2. Choose to upgrade to Pro right now, and a pro-rata refund. Annual fee normal price £299, special price today £199 for 1 year.
3. Downgrade to Free. No annual fee, and I’ll get that pro rata refund too.
For those who’s had to do it in January, which option did you go for?
If I understand correctly, from now on the Avios rewards is only valid for Pro plan?
When I renewed in Oct 2024 I was charged £99.
So now I’ll have to pay £199 per year to keep the privilege of earning Avios on Capital on Tap spend, and thereafter it’ll be £299 per year.
Pro plan also gives priority pass but I have an amex card for now, and my Barclays account also gets me Dragonpass, so immediate value of a priority pass with the pro plan is zero.
Got to crunch some numbers to see if it’s worth it to get the pro plan at £199. Any insights appreciated!
I got the same email. I also need to decide what to do as I don’t use Radisson that much and already have lounge access.
However my email had this paragraph, which might affect your calculations.
From June, Avios conversion will be available to all customers, including those on our Free tier. At this point, you’ll be able to convert your reward points to Avios regardless of your membership tier.
I opted to downgrade to free – I don’t see value in the Radisson rewards and I don’t need lounge access. I’m waiting to see what happens in June with conversions for free users – I’ll upgrade (begrudgingly) if that doesn’t come about.

Huh. I did not see that quote at all at first! That was smack bang in the middle of the page. How did I miss that….
Well that answers my question then, I think most likely I’ll be downgrading to the free plan. Thanks KevinC!
