Ok, that’s a 1st. Booked P+C rate last week for June, sweet spot was effectively buying 50K points for $280 USD, paid on my Wise debit. Hold has been sitting on the money since then.
Just got notification that the $280 wasn’t taken by IHG and has been returned to me. Res is confirmed, so what happens… do I get a very cheap stay?
$245/night for 15k… I’m not complaining. Nearly as good as the 5 nights free at IC Baku last year when they refunded the points twice after I rebooked my stay at a lower rate
There can be a few days’ delay in payment being taken on P + C stays however I’ve never known the cash to be refunded. They might charge your card again in due course.

50k points would’ve cost $250, so not cheaper than current sale.
100% sale wasn’t on at the time and the hotel was seling out fast due to the festival across the road.
Room rate was $245 or 55k, so the P+C got me 0.79p/point of value for the 15k points per night that I used.
