If I book Qatar via the BA website can i still choose my seats free of charge?

A seperate general question…soon my partner will lose her silver status but I will remain silver. As we book our flights together will I be able to choose both our seats free of charge.

Re your general question – you will be able to choose seats for both of you as long as you are both on the same booking.

Sorry to jump on someone else’s post but can someone assist with a similar question?

We booked flights using 2-4-1 vouchers that were soon to expire – one earned by me, one by my wife. We did the bookings online. I have status, she doesn’t. I can book 2 seats, she is being asked to pay.

As we are a family, plus we have a family account, can the bookings be merged (and I can then select seats together, for free)?

Only if you’re Gold, not if you’re silver/bronze. If you’re Gold you can call to allocate a different booking ref next to the seat you have selected (it’s a manual process that goes to the admin team to do so would allow a couple of days).

Ok, thanks for the info. Shame my gold lapsed during covid…

Looks like we stump up the seat fees or chance it 24 hours before. Or earn gold before August..?
