Free seat selection with Qatar Gold – One world Saphire

Hi all,

For some reason I cant choose a free seat on long haul BA flights with Qater Gold (One World Saphire). Isn’t this meant to be free?

I called customer services, and they said that One World Sapphire doesn’t allow free seat selection at the time of booking.

Is this correct?

Is your Qatar number in the booking? Try going to Finnair manage booking, removing it. Then go back in and re add and save and try again

I have 2 bookings where it doesnt allow me to choose seats.

1. Qatar number on the booking – no free seat selection
2. BA upgrade voucher – BA number (no status), but calling customer services still not able to choose a seat.

Did you book with BA or QR?

I managed for this 2 QR bookings via QR chat in the app. It took a bit of explaining that BA Silver is not the same as QR Silver, but eventually they tweaked something which made it possible for me to select our seats.
