Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Free tea and coffee returns to longer short haul routes

Steady yourselves…..article in The Times today states, yes you’ve guessed it, free hot drinks in economy are returning to the long SH routes and possibly to all SH routes eventually. Problem being that Cruz made the galleys smaller in order to cram more seats in so there’s no room to store stuff.
    It’s a start.
Judging by the incredulity in the comments section he will need to try a little harder to win back favourable opinion.

No it’s not. A short trial was done and it has now ended. It may or may not return.

Here is the wording used (my caps):

“We are LOOKING AT introducing this on SOME of our LONGER short haul routes.”

I think most Sunday Times readers would be more surprised to find that BA treats Jordan, Amman etc as short haul.

The neo aircraft were bought by IAG and set out to IAG density specs in order to allow the aircraft to be moved to Vueling or Aer Lingus for LCC short haul if needed. Nothing to do with Cruz.

Ahhh semantics. The overall theme of the article was it is coming back on longer SH. I’m sure it will reading between the lines. Absolutely no point in the write up otherwise.
Most folk would be surprised they treat Cairo/Amman as short haul. I’m still surprised myself and keep thinking they’ll come to their senses soon.

Other carriers have max density and still manage the free drinks service.

Perhaps if they got rid of the BOB trolleys they could go back to the old offer? It’s probably only a couple of full size bar trolleys and a couple of dry stores.

Having water boilers at the front is also nothing new to other carriers with max density.

If there’s a will, there is a way.

BOB on Ba is a joke the staff are either incompetent or just completely dislike it so purposefully go slow in order to keep sales down.
