Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone knows whether the Club lounge at LGW offers ordering from a menu? Specifically at breakfast? I’ve seen conflicting reports in reviews pre/post covid.
My other half has very specific dietary requirements which usually renders a buffet a no go zone, and currently on the fence booking ET or CE. This’ll swing it one way or the other, as if it’s a no, the lounge won’t be of much use to us food-wise!
Thank you!
Not as far as I know but then again I am not a frequent enough visitor to the Gatwick BA lounge so happy to be corrected.
Without knowing the dietary requirement it’s a bit hard to advice.
If it’s something like gluten free then they have GF bread available on request for example
No menu that I could see when in CW lounge last week.
Thank you. It’s basically gluten, wheat and dairy. A tricky combo! I just read a few reviews mentioning ordering from QR codes etc post-covid, but I then suspected they’d have scrapped that and gone back to buffet.
Think it’s been buffet for half a year or more now. The last time I was in a BA lounge the QR codes were still there but they didn’t work.
So what can he eat then… Not sure what BA has at breakfast that doesn’t have those. Fruits? I think if you speak to the staff they would be able to come up with a solution which could possibly include offering something from the F side, not been there since before covid but I recall they had a fish thing
Thanks John! She could do eggs for example.. but freshly made given they often scramble them with milk, butter etc. Salmon… some sort of crackers. It’s basically ‘clean’ food.
But yes you’re right, I’m sure they’d rustle something up. Thanks for everyone’s input.
Bacon/sausage (though I know the casings can be problematic), gluten-free toast, Flora, jam/marmalade? I don’t think they’ll have hard-boiled eggs, I don’t recall ever seeing these at LHR. They do soya and possibly other milk alternatives if you ask.
Thanks all – that’ll do the trick I think. CE it is!
I was there 2 weeks ago and there wasn’t much there for gluten free out. The risk of cross contamination was very real as well. I ate breakfast at the Hilton where I had stayed the night before and a good selection there for gluten free (with the wrapped gf muffins and bread behind df as well iirc).
Pre-pandemic I asked about gf food and they brought out a non-buttered roll thing with bacon in. They may have similar again now…I don’t know if it was df as well however.
The meal in CE to DLM was both gf and df both directions…though the dessert was a may contain for both gluten and dairy (which if she is Coeliac is no good for her).
