Hi, I have the dubious pleasure of flying from Gatwick South Terminal and won’t have airline lounge access. I have Dragon Pass with a bank account (limited number of free visits), but will pre-book. The app says I can use No1 Lounge or My Lounge. Does anyone have any experience of these around lunch time – flight is 14:40. It’s a leisure trip, so we don’t need business facilities – just a chance of seat, and some ok food and drinks options (although I have fairly low expectations of the food). No 1 seems to be marketed as their slightly more ‘upmarket’ lounge, although comments say it’s rammed and often filled with families with young kids, while My Lounge seems to have a good balcony area. Any thoughts very welcome!
Consider where the ‘free’ on the beach crowd are most likely to be and go elsewhere.

that was my thought – I would have thought they would have gone to the cheaper MyLounge, but the general feedback is No1 is constantly packed! Not sure if No1 is used by the packaged providers as it’s bigger?
I suspect it could be a pretty similar situation in both!
We’re in the same situation for a flight tomorrow and decided on no 1 which we’ve prebooked. We figured that as it’s not school holidays, there (hopefully) shouldn’t be too many kids. I will report back tomorrow afternoon – hope we didn’t make the wrong choice!

Thanks, I’d really appreciate that if you get the chance!
I find a quiet corner in Wagamama can be ok.
It is tempting to save the 2x £6 reservation fee for either of the lounges and visit Waggers! I’ve only used the free visits at a couple of non-UK lounges, and it was a fairly calm and relaxing (if slightly underwhelming experience), I suspect Gatwick might be slightly different…
We were one of the Nº 1 ram-ees! BUT it was first Saturday of Easter – the lounge
if/when empty looks lovely!
Remember the reservation fee gives you fast-track: just show email.

Good point, thanks – I had forgotten that!
We are in Gatwick S no 1 lounge now and although they are only accepting prebookings, it’s not rammed and there are seats available. We didn’t check My Lounge because it’s on the other side but it looked like lots of younger friend groups heading towards it. There isn’t a massive selection of food but enough for a snack. We used Dragon Pass to get into the lounge and Priority Pass to eat at Grain Store beforehand. You can also get a free spa treatment (nails or massage) at Aerospa with a Dragon Pass, which I’ve booked for later.

Useful intel, thanks very much for the update. I might take a chance on no 1, if they seem to be keeping things under control. Hope you are having/had a good trip!
