I already have BA Amex Plat to qualify for the 2 4 1 upgrade voucher at £10k spend.
If my partner takes out the same card bow for the 60,000 avios, will they beat the £15k spend for the voucher?

They will only beat the new spend requirement on the same basis as an existing card holder – your partner will either need to spend £10k in the next few weeks i.e. by 31 October to trigger the voucher or if they don’t spend that in time they will need to have spent £15k by their anniversary date 12 months from application approval.

As JDB says. It’s not the point of application, but rather it’s the point of hitting the £10k spend that’s crucial. If you can do that by 31st October this year then you’re good to go. If not then it goes up for everyone, new or existing cardholders to £15k.

Also, minor point but helps avoid confusion, it’s the BA premium plus, not the BA platinum. The amex platinum earns membership reward points (or the platinum cashback earns £).
