Is there some nifty way to get the Amex Live Chat to appear? It used to appear as a pop up in the bottom right hand corner when logged in to my account, but it isn’t popping up for me…
Somebody said (can’t remember where) that the Amex chat was dynamic – they remove the option when the agents are fully laden.
Sounds a bit too technical for Amex IT 🙂
That was in yesterday’s chat thread when I raised the issue. But regardless of when I log in the chat option refuses to appear for some reason.

Nope, it’s bizarre as P2 when they log in on the same device the chat box pops up in the bottom right no problem, but they can’t ask most questions as not the primary card holder.
Same issue.
Wife can access chatbox for her personal card via app on her iphone.
I cannot access chatbox for my personal card via my ipad
Logged out of both devices and swopped around.
Wife can still access her chatbox when using my ipad
I cannot access chatbox using her iphone.
This was all done together so it does not appear to be a “dynamic” issue, nor is it device based. Seems to be account based.

Resolved: Had to call the helpline for another matter and whilst on the call I mentioned the lack of chatbox. They raised the issue and 24hours later the chatbox has appeared

Confirmed they can fix this, ended up getting sent to the ‘technical team’ so they could have a look.
Initially they tried to fob me off with ‘this could be a temp issue, try again later’, to convince the operator there was an underlying problem had to explain that P2 logging into their account on the same device and same browser could see the chat box whereas P1 could not. Was asked to upload two screenshots to show this.
No idea what was actually fixed but there is clearly something they can amend at profile level to make this work, no reply from Amex, just chat box appeared next day.
