Anyone got any tips on how to get cheaply to Seoul or Busan flying Oneworld so I can get the tier points? Finnair is the “easy” option but price is over £5k return and I’ve been paying less than that (to Bangkok and Singapore) using RJ and Qatar, £2500-£4000.

    Thanks

Cathay via HK from London, or keep using RJ/Qatar to far east then Cathay connection via HK? Currently around £3700 LHR-HKG-ICN for next week…. sounds a relative bargain…

Google flight search lets you quickly limit to OW airlines. Finnair is the cheapest, albeit with some long stopovers. Using the price graph, I see £2.2k is the bottom. I guess you must be picking expensive dates or a short trip. There are plenty of options around £3.5k.

I didn’t know the Google search option, thanks. Looks like I was choosing expensive dates, will have to see what I can do!
    Many thanks

I tried this last year to ICN. I thought Cathay or Malaysian were the way to go. I eventually used Avios on Qatar, whose service was superb, which I realise isn’t your point however. Good luck.

Last year there was a FinnAir sale around these dates and I managed to book for June 2023 for about £1600. Stopovers were just a couple of hours long each way.
