Having a difficult time trying to get 3 award tickets to SIN/BKK/KUL etc. with a toddler using avios on QR. Business is out as I cannot see 3 tickets on any date around the time we want to travel (oct/nov).
There are QR economy redemptions available. These would be fine but journey time of 15/16 hours is quite long in economy with a toddler. I am looking at traveling to DOH one day, spend the night and then onwards the next day. This would work well but is there a way to get this on one ticket/booking? When I search LHR to SIN I get various options but they all have short transit times. Is there a way to force a longer transit of say early flight from LHR and then travel onwards the following morning from DOH? There is award space on these flights as they can be booked individually.
Have looked at various other options but QR seems to be best. Have managed to get AY business on the return using Alaska miles, but my balance is now 0. Looked at Delta for Vietnam airlines but the flight times were not ideal.
Just booked this in reverse SIN – DOH – LHR in business, with overnight in Doha. Only way could make work was two separate bookings. BA tried and as one, significantly more expensive.
Thanks, good to know I’m not missing an obvious way to book as one ticket. I’ll just book them separately and swallow the extra avios.
I would have thought you could call and they could book it that way. The key point I think is to keep the stopover at less than 24 hours so it prices up as a single ticket to Singapore rather than two separate legs.
BA frequently don’t show all routing options online which is kinda annoying.
Are you looking at options booking through BA or Qatar’s website?
BA only show shorter connections. Qatar shows many more options with longer connections. Best to transfer Avios and book with Qatar for their flights.
Other benefits include only $25 vs £35 cancellation fees, Qatar is also a lot easier to deal with in regards to schedule changes and aircraft swaps for tickets issued on their stock.

I was looking at BA but good shout on looking at Qatar as well as I discovered they have different availability.
