Getting U.K. call centre

I’m having an issue with fraud on my account and keep getting through to the Indian call centre who are not understanding my issue. Anyone know how to get through to an English speaking U.K. team.
Thanks.29th September 2023 at 11:00SamG 1,512 posts
I think if you call during working hours and select customer relations you’d get the UK
Otherwise weirdly whenever I call the US number in the evening after 8pm I get the UK so could try that !29th September 2023 at 11:07alig4th 319 posts
Have you tried asking to be put through to a member of the UK team? AMEX do it if you ask, BA might too?29th September 2023 at 11:31Aston100 1,182 posts

I’ve never come across any BA call centre staff that cannot speak English.
Some may have accents but their command of English has always been acceptable at worst.

The problem I sometimes have is not their English but that they tend to speak too quickly.
@polb it takes two to tango. Perhaps it’s what you are saying and how you are saying it that’s the problem?29th September 2023 at 13:24polb 22 posts
I think I was just unlucky. Complex situation and the woman I spoke to first didn’t understand me. I called back and the next person I spoke to sorted the issue no problems.29th September 2023 at 13:43yonasl 825 posts
You first said you keep being connected to the Indian callcentre where they don’t understand your issue.
Now you mention you just spoke to one person who could not help with the second one being able to sort the issue.
Maybe English is not the problem here …29th September 2023 at 14:12Andrew J 742 posts
If you become a Gold member you tend to be answered by a U.K. based call centre agent – so that might be something to think about aiming for.
