I’m due to arrive in Gibraltar on 24th December on the evening BA flight which is scheduled to arrive at 6:05pm.
Is it likely that the car rental companies will close early with it being Christmas Eve, and for those that are based over the border in La Linea, would it be risky to book a car given passport checks could slow us down?
Goldcar have suggested using Key’n Go (automated car rental) but some of the reviews aren’t great. Does anyone have any experience of using Key’n Go in Gibraltar and would you recommend it?
Thanks.
Yes they’ll close early.
Your chances of someone leaving their Christmas eve clebrations to help you are quite close to zero.
Consider a much earlier flight.
Goldcar are Goldcar, they do love to squeeze you when they can but my dad used Key n Go in ALC last month and it was fine.
Car rental is one of those things were people leave very long complaints when stuff goes wrong and take things for granted when it works.
If you’ve gone for the full cover or an excess policy, what have you to worry about, apart from some paperwork?
