Hi all,
It has been a few years since I had the gold amex card. Can I get some anecdotal datapoints on when the 10k points (from spending £15k over the year) usually post from anniversary date – is it 30 days fairly consistently or 60 days?
My anniversary date was also one day before my 13th statement…so haven’t been charged year 2 annual fee yet.
Thanks
It’s usually around the date of the first statement after the anniversary date, never had them before the 2nd year fee is charged though. There will be something in the Ts and Cs about how long they can take to post so no point chasing them till that amount of time has passed.
30 days from charging of fee (this is reality, not the stated rule).
This goes away 12 Oct remember – bonus will post immediately every time you hit £5k spend.

Thanks – thats how I always interpreted it versus the stated rule and hence after some anecdotal datapoints.
When did my 30 days start? My 13th statement was produced on the 19th, but my anniversary date is 20th….I’ve been hoping its the latter as I want to upgrade to platinum card!

Your anniversary/statement dates don’t fall very conveniently. In my experience, with two PRG cards in our household, Amex bills the new fee on the statement following the anniversary and the points appear about a week after that statement; has worked like this consistently for at least three years. Obviously this year it may be different because of the October 12 changes. Absent that, your points would appear around 26 October, but may now appear on or shortly after 12th, but unlikely in time for Plat upgrade bonus that closes on the 11th unless they do some tidying up.
I am confused by this.
My anniversary date is December. I have spent over £15000 by october 12
but amex chat tell me I will only receive the bonuse after my anniversary date!
Is this correct? do i not receive on october 12? What do i tell amex?
I thought people have received the 10K points already when everyone else did. For £15K spent, there was the normal 7,500 “Earn as you spend” bonus added and then a separate 2,500 points on top.

In case this affects anyone, the changes that took effect on 12 October appear to be panning out as some of us hoped, rather than as stated by Amex! Got the 10k MR on 12 October having spent just over £15k prior to that although my anniversary date is 28 December. Have now spent a further £5k and got an extra 2,500 on top of the 2,500 for spending £10 last month. Although the cap is now supposed to be 12,500 we will if that applies in the current year.
