Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes ‘Good’ price for Hong Kong

    Hi all,
I am currently looking at Hong Kong for next September and wondered whether anyone had a view on what would be a good price for flights?
I have a range of prices so far from £4700 (Finnair) right up to over £10k. I would plump for the Finnair flights but not sure whether this is probably as good as I can hope for or whether I should just wait a bit.
Although I am not averse to ex-Eu, for this trip I am looking at a London start.
    Any thoughts appreciated.

Technically an Ex-EU does involve a London start!

I think google flights has a “flight date cheaper / pricier than normal” indicator.

Agreed 😉 and thank you for the google flights tip.

For one person? Wait, wait, wait!

I would hope you could come close to halving that £4,700.

@Frogee Sorry – it is for 2 people.

Put in some random dates in Google Flights that are more than 7 days apart then click on price graph to see when the floor is. Looks like £2k is easily achievable.

Gotcha – low £2,000s is the standard decent price but there have certainly been better deals with e.g. Lufthansa before.

Turkish Airlines from Stockholm is available for less than £1,400 per person. Evening departure from ARN and morning arrival on the return, so it could be done without an overnight in Sweden. Connections in IST are less than 3 hours.

    Appreciate the advice, thank you.

Just back from a trip to Japan . Flying Air China in Business class for a shade over £2000. Connection through PEK is ok. Good service and miles credited to UA or any other Star Alliance carrier.
I’m sure Hong Kong will be around a similar price.
They use A350 and 777 on the Heathrow route and a reliable. The A350 is one to go for .
