@ceebee – the information about the ending of the offer was provided to you in writing and was clear on its face. Amex chat staff and call centre agents are poorly paid and have to deal with lots of random stuff so to seek to take advantage of the situation from the lofty position of a Platinum card holder seems rather off. If you are so short that you really need the £50, you ought to be cancelling the card.

it was entirely plausible to be unsure whether the offer will continue or not before the 30th june

it’s completely unreasonable to spend money at HN and expect cashback now, when the offer is not showing on your card (and even if it did show, you’d get nothing if you had not enrolled, and you clearly cannot POSSIBLY have enrolled in an offer that does not exist)

JDB – I’ve never had anything in writing either way about the Harvey Nichols offer ending, though I have read plenty about it on HFP. What I have had in writing on Monday was confirmation it wasn’t ending and continued this six months – from an American Express employee, which I’ll take above the word of an angry dude on the internet who seems fairly incapable of civilised conversation. I don’t happen to entirely trust the Amex employee’s information, but I think I’m within my rights to take it at his word and expect it to be corrected if wrong.

You’re more than welcome to your opinion, obviously – but the way you arrogantly talk to others online is frankly a bit pathetic. Get off the internet and go outside and talk to someone. That’s what I’m about to improve my day by doing 😉

Fairer point on it not being listed in offers, though I don’t recall having to re-enroll every six months for it anyway? Perhaps once when it first launched? Might be wrong, but I’ve used it every six months without noticing it in the ad-hoc offers list previous years.
