I just had a stay at Hilton Sparks Romford (I know but it was convenient!) interrupted by House Keeping insisting that checkout was 11am and not 12-noon as agreed with Reception on check-in – and that was only an hour later because previous 2pm check-outs for gold members had been reduced to 1hr later, and the receptionist at checkout advised that this was incorrect and since 01/09/24 there were no late checkouts for Gold at all – only chargeable late checkouts at £10 per hour. The Hilton website says nothing about any of this.
Not been reported anywhere and I’m sure the bloggers would have been in uproar. Late checkout isn’t guaranteed for gold anyway, it’s subject to availability
There is no guaranteed late check out for Hilton Gold, so they could not downgrade that.
It’s all at the discretion of the hotel.
There’s no guaranteed late checkout at Hilton regardless
Even as a diamond it’s like pulling hens teeth to get one
Neither early nor late checkout is mentioned on the benefits page unless I’ve gone blind.

Marriott pretty much always gives late checkouts til 2pm for gold and 99.9% of the time til 4 for Platinum+
Indeed not guaranteed but it says “late checkouts out needs to be requested and is subject to availability” – I have requested previously and been offered 2pm. This time I requested and was offered 12-noon “as only 1 hour offered to Golds now” but at 11am I had housekeeping hammering on the door and was told (despite check-in) that since 1st Sept late checkout was only available at £10 per hour.
Still no downgrade of any benefits. At most it’s a downgrade on what that specific hotel does.

It’s in the small print on here https://www.hilton.com/en/hilton-honors/terms/
what this “ Late Check-Out: Must be requested and is subject to availability.” means nothing. Is it paid or complimentary and what time is it until etc
0 about early check in even on there.
it means it’s at the property’s discretion. As Rob often says non guaranteed benefits should be ignored.
@davefl But for who? Any Honors member? And it certainly doesn’t say complimentary nor what it believes is late. 30 mins? 1 hour? So I can see why the hotel has taken its stance. It’s offering it but for £10 an hour.
Hilton have definitely gone a big step towards distancing the programme from any entitlement to complimentary early or late checkout of any kind by essentially making no reference to it at all and that one line in the T&C’s is as clear as mud on what it means.
Hyatt, Marriott and even IHG are much stronger in this regard. This and the pitiful breakfast allowance in US shows where Hilton elite status is heading.

No argument which is why I have stayed only one night at Hilton proprty this year and that was a Hampton in the middle of rural Ohio where there were no other viable options.
Just checked in at the Sparks Romford and been told that Diamond members no longer qualify for free breakfast as of 1st September (it was offered fine when I stayed a few weeks ago). Not sure what but something seems to have changed here as of 1st September!
Putting aside why the Sparks Romford is suddenly the place to be for a moment! …
MyWay benefits do not list breakfast as a benefit option for the Sparks brand. Breakfast remains in the options for the other brands as usual.
Screenshots on other sites show this to have been the case seemingly forever for Sparks… so if breakfast was granted before for gold/diamond, it seems likely it was a discretionary local perk/error.
