Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Have 2 upgrade vouchers, what next for third person ( my son )

    Hi there,

Wonder if anyone has thoughts on this. I now have 2 Barclaycard upgrade vouchers, one from free, one from Premium card.

Our family is 2, myself, my wife and our son.

So, I was wondering what if anything would be next to get to help so we can best use the vouchers we have ?

My wife has a BA Amex, but we’ve found we can’t use vouchers from here, when I make a booking.

Any thoughts on what next ?

    Thanks,
    Roy.

What do you mean you cant use vouchers from her BA Amex?

If you can get a 241 from BAPP then its your wife and son on 241. And you on Barclays voucher. Only the Barclays voucher has to LEAVE from UK.

If youve only got 2x upgrade vouchers then its your wife and son in business return. You paying cash fare in Economy/PE/J (what you wallet can handle).

Where/when are you planning to go? Also is your family 2 or 3? Do you mean 2 plus an infant or actually 3 full-fare pax? If so, how old is son?

I second all of zapato’s suggestions, plus if you’re making a cash booking for one of you, consider making it a BA Holiday, which can offer better value.

It’s 3 of us, my son is 15, so would effectively be another adult.

When made our booking this summer, when making online using my wife’s BA account, it would only show her vouchers and not let me use or see mine.

Are you saying that I should have been able to use both my vouchers and one’s of my wife’s on a single booking made online ?

You can’t use the 241 and the Barclays voucher on a single booking, regardless of which account they sit in. You would need to make one booking for the 241 (from your wife’s account if it’s her voucher), and another one with the upgrade voucher, from your account. Having separate bookings does not need to cause any issues, though it will be simpler if you keep your son with one of the adults.

I think you can use 2 Barclays vouchers on one booking (if both in the same account), but you need to call BA to do it.

You might be better going back to the beginning and reading the articles and threads about both vouchers (and avios redemptions) to get your head round it all properly!
