Being genereous, this just about counts as BAEC-related…
I WAS going to ask is there any clever way to get a discount on a £225 Carnet 12 (beyond the 5.25% Quidco cashback) e.g. via another operator or promotion.
But I now have an even more basic question – is it even POSSIBLE to buy a Heathrow Express Carnet 12? On the web, in any browser, even when you click on the “Buy Ticket” button next to the Carnet 12 option – it only offers single journey or return tickets – whether logged in or not.
It is possible in the app, but this rules out the Quidco cashback.
Anyone managed to buy a Carnet recently on the web? Even better with a further discount?
Thanks
Took me a while, but I have found how to do it:
Go to “Buy Tickets”
Select the Date
When you see the calendar view, scroll up
Click on the “One Way” selection and you are given a drop down of other options
“Carnets” is the last option on that drop down.
It was not obvious, whoever designed the new user interface needs a good talking to!
Thanks. You’re right. I phoned HEX customer service and they opened a case as they also couldn’t figure out how to buy a carnet on their new website!
They’ve just got back to me with the same instructions/workaround. Terrible UX design.
Looks like no further discount available as there’s no promo box. And can’t see a way to buy a carnet through another train operator or ticket reseller.
