Dedicated thread for parking advice for Heathrow Airport.

I will start with one advice on looking at Monthly parking on Your Parking Space as opposed to say 2 or 3 week (by days / hours).
Does seem to work out cheaper.

Any pointers on saving for official Heathrow Parking much appreciated.

Parking at the thistle Hotel and staying 1 night works out alot cheaper than just heatrow parking on its own.
u also have easy access to heatrow t5 via pod transfer.

Thistle Hotel; not the best hotel, although has one of the best airport hotel runway views.
For an early flight, late check in and breakfast in T5 lounge is works ok for us

    As a bonus I think it’s 12 avios /£ for thistle bookings.

You can’t do much with the official parking to get it cheaper, other than get 2p per Heathrow Rewards points if you cash in your points for a parking voucher.

Normally around 5% back on the sites we don’t mention for official parking. I’d also say meet & greet is to my mind better than vanilla short stay as you drop & collect in closest bays to Terminal yet cheaper than short stay & often business parking prices. They take a full high res scan of your car on entry as well so I’m pretty confident any damage would be sorted.

SORRY I hit report rather than QUOTE.

The high vis photos saved us when we used onsite official parking at Gatwick last October. They caused damage to our car and would not agree it was them – I asked for the photos (didn’t quote any right to them) and they duly sent them. Clearly whoever sent them didn’t think to check them first. It was a bit of a hassle but we got them to arrange for and pay for the repair. I would not use a meet and greet service ever again – not even Gatwick or Heathrow official.

Thistle seems to only offer hotel room at least online.
While it metions park, stay and fly package while booking it does not seem to offer number of days to choose from (again 4, 8, and more days are stated but not really coming up during the booking process)

It may be that their parking is fully booked for the dates you are looking at. Also worth signing up to their loyalty programme for extra discount on rooms with/without parking.

If you pick a random date in September eg 13-14, you’ll see the stay and park rate options in the list for each room type

Long term parking (5 weeks) this winter at Heathrow’s official car parks is expensive but we’ve had good success using JustPark to book spaces in hotel car parks (a lot cheaper than park & stay etc) with an easy bus ride to the terminal. Definitely worth looking at.

At £20 per day (less if you book a package), the Sofitel’s car park is cheaper than the T5 short stay and just as convenient. Staying there is also by far the best option for a morning flight from T5, so you win all round. It’s almost always my first choice.

Holiday EXtra via MSE seems to offer a good deal at the moment at purple parking.

How do you go about just booking the parking with them, and at that rate? Cheers!

That rate is only available to hotel guests. You book parking through the hotel website when you book the room. In practice, I have never had an issue adding parking at the same rate on arrival in the hotel, but I wouldn’t want to guarantee that would work.

I’ve not been able to get the website show the parking packages in ages, so I just give them a call.

Yes, @masaccio, I found the same thing and did likewise!

    Anyone used this place before:
Airport Bowl, Bath Rd, Harlington, Hayes UB3 5AL
Seems to charge £5 per day with max 7 days stays.
Can you pay for three days say at weekends?

I’ve used it, its fine. They used to require cash on exit, which might be extremely inconvenient if your departure doesn’t align with their opening hours. Phone and check, this arrangement may have changed.

There is an open air carpark almost next door for low £ per day as well. Pay by app IIRC. 24/7 access.

Any recent feedback on heathrow meet and greet parking – which is what many of the companies seem to advertise.
My go to Place – Holiday Extra – park n ride unfortunately does not serve LHR T4.

I used it at T5 and it was excellent. Car was waiting in short stay despite the NATS delays on the bank holiday. I’d thoroughly recommend but friends the same week had a miserable time. They are still root causing the problems, but the car *appears* to have battery damage caused during the time it was out of their hands. It’s a fancy new hybrid.

I know from my tracker my car was parked at a hotel down the road for 2 weeks and was not thrashed on the drive. My guess is they behave professionally but cock ups can happen as they don’t know your car like you do.

I just cant see any reason to ever use any of these off-site operators who just drive off with your car. “Keep your keys” official airport parking, or official valet parking seems the only sensible options.
The countless stories of cowboy unofficial operators make me think it just isnt worth the hassle of saving 50 quid off of the total price of a holiday….

Any recent feedback parking in BEDFONT or nearby.
Assume if travelling to T4, one can easily get a taxi (using apps) from parking place to/from LHR.

And if the price comes down, which it often does, you can just tweak your booking and you’ll get a refund of the difference back to your card. Also book though the Exec Club for bonus avios.
