Hi!
Got a Plat and supplementary card holder who’ll be travelling with me and 1 other (so 2 Plats, 3 humans).
Heathrow T5 travelling in WT+ BA (no status)
Premium plaza seems to be the best lounge excluding BA, but my understanding is that it’s busy now that it accepts Priority Pass?
Worse still, Priority Pass doesn’t allow pre booking it?! (I know DragonPass does, but I no longer have that)
Apparently you can also get in with just the Platinum Card, but I assume that can’t be pre booked?
Is it therefore a hopeless bet to get
into?
Honestly, it hasn’t been worth trying to get into for at least the last year (furnishing, food well below par).
Agree. It’s not worth visiting. Find a comfy spot in a decent bar.
What about club aspire? Coming from someone who’s only so far used BHX lounges…so I don’t have the highest expectations 🙂
Has anyone had any luck complaining to Amex about the situation? Seems a bit poor that you pay £650 but can’t even get into the lounges they suggest (and one of them is a “Platinum Card” one, not even just Priority Pass)
Depending on the time of the day you might get lucky, so still should try PP with your platinum.

Well, it wouldn’t appear anyone savvy actually pays £650/year in view of the SUBs and then annual retentions, so you sort of get what you pay for – lounges that are inaccessible and/or poor quality. As a new poster you won’t be one of them, but there’s a wonderful irony when one reads of posters pleased with their 50k retention then those same people complaining of lounge inaccessibility, inadequate benefits etc. for such an expensive card they haven’t actually paid for.

All BHX PP lounges are better than both Aspire and Plaza in T5. But I’d probably choose to sit in Aspire.

Club Aspire way better than the frankly grim Plaza.
On your Plat. under “Offers”, there should be a link to Priority Pass for
reserving 4 lounge spots in advance before the end of the year (sorry if
I’m stating the obvious and you’ve already done this!).
Plaza lounge is hit and miss breakfast is ok lunch well thank heavens for the free bar will be travelling in Dec going to try aspire unfortunately can’t book it though so plaza it might be
I have experienced the Plaza Premium lounge and Club Aspire recently, and whilst either isnt great, Club Aspire is better. I used the one of the pre-booking codes, so I had no issue getting in. (There was no queue when I arrive, but I noticed a large queue around 1 hour later)
