Hey all –
QQ – Do all flights from Heathrow to JFK, have the new business class 1-2-1 layout? I normally use Seatguru and they all seem to be showing the old layout, so a little confused.
Many thanks in advance for guidance.

It’s really one of the most reliable routes for it – firstly as BA does try to prioritise it and also most 777s are CS now. 77W / 777-300er flights more at risk of a sub so 777-200 may be a better choice if the times work

Seatguru hasn’t been updated now for a few years – but it can have its place once you know what aircraft you are on with plenty of reviews and pictures. Expertflyer is better at telling you which aircraft will be on which route and you can also see the seat maps – not in great detail but you will see the difference between old club and new club suite for instance.
However, you can do a ‘dummy booking (only works for cash bookings) on BA where you will get the option to book seats well before you get to the payment page. This will show you the seat layout although it can be a bit diagrammatic. Once you know the aircraft and/or layout, aerolopa will give you the accurate diagrams.
Don’t forget that aircraft regularly change. I had three equipment changes in my final week on a recent USA trip.
If you’re travelling as a couple, the new Club Suite is nothing to get excited about in my view. We went out on the old seats and back on the new, and my wife and I both preferred the old seats for a daytime flight: it’s much easier to hold a good conversation, and the relative openness to the adjacent seat isn’t an issue if you’re travelling with a partner. The new seats would be much better for a solo traveller, though.
For solo travellers, which most business travellers are, the slowness of the move to CS is killing BA’s brand standing amongst those I talk to. Granted with the joint venture IAG don’t care money wise if you fly AA or BA; but that’s only a good thing if your audience is captive and not likely to try DL/VS/UA. It is astonishing how when they waited far far too long to move with the times, CS is being rolled out in a generally opaque manner. Business travellers love detail and love certainty and “It’ll probably be CS” just doesn’t cut it. As a practical step, BA could have a section of their website dedicated to real time updates on CS refurbs.

But the difference is even QR’s worst cabin – the old 777s with 2-2 layout are still far better than CW. Those seats have so much space and legroom that hopping over a seat mate isn’t tricky for anyone taller than Wee Jimmy Krankie.
