Simple aspirations:)
I have until end of March to get 3 flights ……
So thinking if I do a connection from Glasgow to anywhere that gives me 4.
How can I best find cheap , few day only trips that won’t break the bank but will get me that 3 flights in time?
Any help gratefully received!
BA low flight finder or google flights. You’ll need to put in some work in finding a combo that works bath time ans price wise.
“Day” trips could include GLA-LON-AMS return for example. Also consider starting or ending in EDI.
Price will depend on what day of the week you go but some of the cheapest fare buckets will have already been timed out from booking due to advance purchase rules.
YMMV, but personally I wouldn’t chase Bronze. I guess the free seat selection is OK if you’re doing long-haul… I value Silver due to seat selection, lounge, fast-track and luggage. That’s a whole lot more than Bronze.
But everyone has their own reasons, so as above a quick hop will get you there. Once had a great lunch in Aberdeen to get 4 flights for Silver – the lunch cost way more than the flights 😁
Are the 3 flights for earning totally via the required flight segment basis I.e. 25 in total, or are you aiming for the 300 TP plus 2 flights?
Domestic flights are probably going to be the most convenient (short, no immigration), but prices might not be the lowest, especially this close to your travel date. As noted, weigh up whether Bronze is actually worth it for your next 12 months’ travel.
BA low fare finder is a great tool – I used to it find the cheapest dates to travel for 3 BAH’s last year which got me to gold.
Slightly different approach – spend US$225 to get Intercontinental Ambassador and complimentary IHG OneRewards Platinum status. Then use that to get a status match to Royal Jordanian Silver Jay (= BA Bronze) for $49.
Might be cheaper than three flights, you don’t have to go anywhere, and you get a year of your Ambassador/Platinum status. Cheaper of course if you already have hotel status somewhere else.
