I have an amex Premium Plus card and have already been awarded my 242 voucher last february after spending the required amount.my card is due to renew for the next year but i am not sure if its worth it
At the moment we only have 68000 household avios .
Spending wise i will be spending somewhere in the region of £50k plus in the next 6-12 months.
my goal is to use the 241 and avios to travel somewhere far later this year.
Is it worth me sticking with premium card and paying the annual fee again or cancelling and getting a different card.
my spend will get me another 241 voucher valid for any class but as i dont have lots of avios is this worth it .prior to me having the Premium card i had the free one and was awarded, and used, that 241 reward
Any advice on the best way to use my proposed spending in the next few months to maximise my rewrds/avios
Also my partner would qualify for the free card but i’m not quite sure she would for the Premium, how do i get the bonus for recomending her

Hi @landersd, and welcome. Literally all this stuff is covered in Rob’s excellent series of articles on avios/Amex/companion voucher, plus many threads in the forum! The avios Barclaycard may be of interest to you, as well.

Go to the top of this page where it says “AVIOS” and click on the drop down arrow. Have you read all those articles?!

Yeah read up. BTW you can get a bonus on marriot/nectar then the Plat even though you currently have the BAPP. 50k spend will be 75k Avios so its definitely worth it and that should be priority. And its a 241 thankfully, not a 242.
You can’t get a bonus on any other Amex except the Platinum if you hold a BAPP (or have held one in the past 2 years).

There should be something in your Amex account about referring, usually on the home page. You need to send them a link, and they need to apply using it.
