Hi there, I’m new to virgin flying club and looking on the headforpoints website it says I can get a premium off peak return to Male, Maldives for 50k points. Is this realistic as when I search it’s much higher? Any tips much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi

Unfortunately you are probably looking at an old article from before the launch of dynamic pricing.

Whilst IN THEORY Saver rewards are available at that price, Virgin has effectively removed all Saver seats in Upper except for India and the US East Coast. You need to forget about redeeming for Upper on any leisure route, I’m afraid, unless there are some serious changes to their algorithm.

Hi Rob thanks for the reply. I don’t mean upper i am referring to premium economy. E.g to fly to male on 29th November it is 21k points for economy and 180k for premium economy which is a huge jump. I was just wondering you can ever get premium economy for around the 50k points mark or it is always way higher these days? Cheers

P.s great job with the website, i signed up to the virgin atlantic plus card through your link!

The only way to really know is to go through the Virgin reward finder page month by month – but even then the price can change between checking and booking, especially if you want to book a return (as opposed to 2 one-ways.

I don’t know whether @Rob was including MCO in US East coast! Certainly you can get decent award pricing there and to ATL.

Thanks all, i expect to have 59k points plus a companion voucher which sounds like it might be doable to get a premium economy return flight for two.

I just swapped a Tampa to LHR in December for an UC saver 47.5k on the A350 from Atlanta to LHR in November, sod all from Florida though in November. Hadn’t realised the change fees had gone up to $100 though!

Hi so was that 47.5k for upper class one way? Thanks

Yes UC, one way 47500 each, so 95000 minus 75000 with a voucher, good deal. Few and far between though.
