I have 200 tier points. To remain Silver I need to reach 400 before 30 November.
I’m booking a 200 point flight 13-30 November. Will this enable me to retain Silver for another year or will this flight be credited too late?
Thank you
30th November isn’t the right date for a collection year end.
That would be the status year end date implying a collection year end date of 8th October.

OP is referring to Virgin, I believe 8th Oct would be BA? 🙂
I don’t know the answer, but hopefully someone will be able to help.
Virgin unlike BA using a rolling 12 month tier point window.
Virgin like BA will use the activity/travel date (not posting date) so a flight taken on the 30th Nov will earn 200 tier points. The crucial bit is that on the 30th Nov, you need to have 200 existing tier points so that 200 old + 200 new = 400.
If any of your existing 200 tier points expire on the 29th Nov then you will be short!
Thank you for your answer. I have 200 which will expire on 30 November, which is why I’m worried that my flight 13-30th November may not count in this rolling year. On the VA website it states tier points are added within 7 days.
You will be ok based on what you have said.
The tier points may post late after the 30th but they always use the date that you took the flight not the posting date into your account.
If you get any issues, a straightforward call to their customer services will resolve it.

Not in my experience. Despite several calls to them and emails, they were insistent that the points do not post based on the date you took the flight, but when they are credited to your account. We lost Silver status renewal because of this and hence the ability to use a voucher at silver status. If anyone has any great ideas for rectifying it, please chip in!
