HN £50 credit refund question

I used the £50 HM credit on platinum last month on a T-shirt, this was delivered and soon after £50 refunded back to credit card.

The t shirt doesn’t fit so I sent it back then ordered something else for £50.

Will I get the t shirt refunded and they take back the £50 Amex refund and transfer it again for the shorts? Or this a refund on the first thing you buy and I’ve confused the system etc.

Really varies, depending on whether AmEx links the refund with the first transaction or not.

My experience is that the original credit sticks and doesn’t get clawed back.

I might be better off returning the shorts also and maybe making £50 if they don’t claw back the bonus credit but get refunded on both items.
