Hotel near Paddington

Booked on an early flight from Heathrow but will be in London early afternoon the previous day so pondering cheapish digs near Paddington station to hop on the Heathrow express in the morning, skipping breakfast and will be out and about previous evening so don’t want a classy expensive place
The Premier Hub at Marylebone looks ok for a hundred quid. Any suggestions more than welcome

I think you’re probably best with a nearby Premier Inn. The area is not known for high quality in rerms of branded and indeoendent hotels. PIs are mercifully consistent at least. There are 2 large Hiltons there but I’ve heard that some regular business guests stopped staying at the larger one on account of mayhem getting a lift cos of domestic activities being carried out by the ‘new arrivals’ being housed on some floors there.

Thanks yes, I recall the Hilton Metropole having stayed their for work pre pandemic being very mediocre indeed

Having previously worked around Paddington, so having to stay overnight in hotels in the area, I would recommend the Point A hotel:
