Hi, I di not usually buy Hand Baggage Only flights on BA but I think I might have for a flight I have tomorrow.
I have Silver status so on the normal economy ticket would be allowed a check-in bag, not however on a HBO ticket.Where would it state clearly if I have bought a HBO ticket ?
Thanks everyone. Are you related to @JimBob who posted this exact same comment on the IHG offer article?
If it says ‘economy plus’ then it includes a baggage allowance
If it says ‘exonomy basic’ then thats the HBO only fare (and no silver allowance allowed)
it would have been clear when booking in the app / website when you chose which to book.
Oh how odd. It seems I have two different accounts across two different browsers !
My phone opens a different browser if I follow a link from an email ! Annoying.I absolutely would have known at the time I booked it as you say. That is quite clear during the booking process.
Problem is when you have a bunch of flights in the future you don’t always recall which option was booked. Completely my fault. But it would ge nice if the ticket simply said HBO somewhere on it !
Than you for explaining how to tell.
So Economy Basic is HBO.
Economy Plus allows status baggage. Thanks very much.
Looks like I did choose to go HBO on this one to save a few quid which will now bite me in the bum as needs have changed.
Hey Ho. You pays your money and takes your choice.

Thanks very much for the swift and comprehensive response. The easiest way to check is if you look at your original e-ticket receipt when you booked, all costs/charges are listed clearly as well as baggage info.
After Manage my booking (in red) and Your Itinerary, there is a section headed Baggage Allowances. It clearly states for each section of the booking hand baggage and checked baggage allowance. If hbo, under Checked Baggage it will say no allowance. Further down it lists charges for additional baggage for each flight.
Further down after payment total (red writing on yellow) it will say “Endorsements” and for me says “Pax noref/hbo” then airport.
Hope this helps for the future.
