How long before Avios is returned when cancelling an Avios only booking?

Hi all

I’m looking to cancel an Avios only booking and then rebook the same flights using my 241 voucher to take advantage of the 50% Avios requirement.

I don’t currently have enough to book now so will need to cancel and then wait to get my existing Avios spend back. Before I pull the ‘cancel’ trigger, I’m hoping someone here can give some guidance on how long it typically takes for a refund of Avios to land back in the BAEC account.

Appreciate any thoughts!

Scratch that!

I just got through to a friendly BA agent – they cancelled my existing booking and credited the Avios back instantly. I have since rebooked using my voucher and 50% of the required Avios.
